A career spent at the inflection points.

Shah’s career has followed the major waves of technology change: telecommunications, then mobile, then location and platforms, then enterprise software and cloud, then SaaS, and now generative AI. Each wave arrived with the same argument — that the technology was the hard part — and each one proved otherwise.

What repeats is the transition itself: a business model under pressure, a product portfolio that no longer fits, an organization built for the previous era, and a leadership team that has to decide faster than the evidence allows. Shah has spent his career in those moments — leading technology organizations of up to roughly 350 people inside businesses ranging from $25M to $400M in revenue, through private-equity ownership, acquisitions, divestitures and global expansion.

He has built and led distributed teams across the United States, Europe, India and Latin America, which shapes a practical view of talent, cost and delivery: models work when someone has thought hard about ownership, communication and cadence, and fail when they have not.

His current focus is what AI does to the clock speed of an organization — how quickly it can build, decide, learn and correct — and what that requires of executives and boards.

Earlier in his career Shah worked on the standards that made the mobile web possible, representing Nokia in the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and the Open Mobile Alliance, chairing industry working groups and helping lead the formation of the W3C Mobile Web Initiative.

It was an early lesson that still applies: the hardest part of a technology shift is rarely reaching consensus — it is designing the architecture and the economics so adoption becomes the obvious, rational choice.
